Job Title: Chief Engineer Department: Maintenance Job Posting Date: 07/29/2010 Job Dates: Immediate - Job Description: Seeking candidate with strong leadership and engineering skills to lead the resort's maintenance department. Ideal person will have 6+ years experience as a Chief Engineer in a hotel/resort setting. Individual must be well versed in all aspects of maintenance and engineering, have strong financial and managerial skills. Candidate should also have excellent computer skills. The responsibilities for the Chief Engineer position are as follows: To manage the operations of the Maintenance Department including staff of 7.  Ensure that all work orders are professionally completed on time and that all work orders are correctly input into the Maximo computer program.  Ensure that all daily needs for the department are anticipated and provided  To Ensure the timely completion of all assigned duties of the department, including day-to-day work assignments, preventative maintenance and capital projects. Manage special on-call needs, based on the needs of the hotel, through departmental advance scheduling.  Develop annual rooms and public space inspections, and create a tracking system for all property and facilties  Reconcile all maintenance issues, from both a physical plant aspect and the management of staff  When emergency situations arise caused by natural causes (hurricanes, etc.) or anticipated events, to be present on property for management of the crisis.  Work with vendors to create a reliable system for work requests that are unable to be provided by the department;  Understand the budgeting and expenses of the department, and the priorities that evolve due to budgeting; complete the annual budget process on time  Manage the department budget throughout the year, ensuring accountability.
